More M8 snaps and Dotcom Garden prep…

m8_birch_sky.jpgA neighbor’s trees made a pretty scene against the winter sky as Cassie and I made our way on our 1.8 mile loop this AM.

Then we were off to Dotcom Garden, where we dug the chicken manure – 1/2 sack per box, into the 3 planters we tilled yesterday. We also took a picture or 3 of Dotcom Garden, which we’ll be comparing to the Lumix pix of same.

Both cameras make 10.1 megapixel images, but the Leica’s electronics, sensor, algorithms et al. are a very different set of technologies. The Leica’s color palette can shift dramatically with just a small change in framing a picture (as I learned yesterday, when a slightly different camera crop turned a scene from mostly greens to mostly blues).

And the M8 is 1.0 product, which has already had a series of firmware upgrades (up to 1.09 in my camera), aimed at bugs, color and other issues. At some point we’ll put up an M8 gallery and a discussion of the camera and how I use it… I do note it has direct digital B&W creation like the Digilux II…
