Yesterday was particularly chaotic – big family visit, and our gardener and his crew were here getting the patio ready for new sod – lots going on.
In a really wierd incident, one of our hoses, which the gardeners had been using, somehow caught in the garage door, causing it to open sometime in the night.
When we got up this morning, the door was open and our beloved Cassie, who at 14, is not seeing well, deaf and fighting arthritis, was gone. We frantically piled into the car and searched up and down local streets.
I went out on foot and walked for nearly an hour – the longest walk I’ve done since May – but no luck. Finally, mid-morning we got a call: a couple who had arrived to play tennis at Oak Knoll School – 2 doors down from our house – had spotted her and got the phone number off of her tag. Linda and I rushed down and Cassie was ‘rescued.’ We’re so happy… and hose issue has been resolved… sometimes I have to wonder ‘Why us?’…
