It has amazed me how much of the MacWorld floor has been taken over by iPod, and, now, iPhone accessories. I guess that anytime there are some 130 million copies of something floating around in the market, a large opportunity presents itself to accessorize. If you only get 1% of that market, you’ll still be shipping more than a million units.
A number of publicists contacted me, pitching iPod and iPhone cases, speakers, headphones, carrying bags and lord knows what-all. I mostly declined these opportunities on the grounds that I am inexpert on the topic. However, I guess I should mention outfits like Vestalife (their Ladybug iPod speakers, a CES hit, are seen above), Altec Lansing, Atlantic, be.ez, Belkin, BodyGardz, Brenthaven, Contour, Dr. Bott, Etymotic, Fone2Phone, JBL, Kensington, Marware, Newertech, Otterbox, Proclip USA, RhinoSkin, Scosche Industries, Sierra Sound, Skullcandy, Tunewear, Ultimate Ears, UNIEA, V-MODA, Whoomp! et al.
