Lightning over Lac d'Annecy

Jacques, the local overseer of our rented house, had warned us we might be in for some lightning this trip, and, sure enough, we got quite a display last night. I was a little slow getting out of bed, and missed the peak of the fireworks, but did manage, via the time exposure technique perfected in my boyhood years on the southern shore of Lake Erie, to catch the bolt above.

Indeed, I’ve had a lot of fun taking pictures this trip: so, I’ve started an Annecy picture page on PicasaWeb, using Google’s nifty Picasa2 app to manage the photos on my Linux-based EeePC. With Firefox and apps like Picasa, this little Linux machine is not much harder to use than my Mac…
