Scott and Lily by Oak Knoll School

Scott, Lily and I resumed our morning walks this A.M., after my 10-day hiatus in France. The morning fog was sitting on Skyline, still catching a bit of color from the rising sun as we made our way.

One of the things we discussed was Chrome, Google’s new browser, which Scott had installed on Windows running virtually on his Mac. I am doing likewise as I write, and discovering some bugs (as one would expect). Chrome’s ‘V8’ javascript engine is having some problems with my WordPress authoring page, which works reasonably well in IE7. Looks like we’ll have to save and finish the post in Firefox over on the Mac side.

I do like Chrome on first inspection: starting with a clean sheet, Google can ignore the legacy code that hampers other browsers. I also like the idea that Chrome is oriented towards running cloud apps rather than just displaying HTML – we’ll be digging into Google’s apps  via Chrome for much of this morning. A new browser… wow…
