Low sun, low temperatures, high frustration

Long-legged shadows

Chilly this morningIt was chilly this morning as I set out on my walk, alone – Scott and Tiger Lily haven’t been available this week. The blog has been ‘off the air’  because we’ve been busy with things like finishing our family room remodel, getting new LED holiday lights to replace the 50-year-old set that finally gave up the ghost this year and dealing with a couple of really frustrating issues.

One of those frustrations is the WordPress 2.6 editor… so, we’ve just switched, mid-post to an old friend, MarsEdit. The new Worpress editor just did so many ‘helpful’ things, especially with photos, that I was spending a lot of time in the HTML editor cleaning up the posts, anyway.

I’ve also been trying to solve a problem with our family room speakers – a saga of broken wires under the house, a ‘new’ very complicated Sony ‘home theater’ receiver that has an unbelievably bad UI and just refuses to make it easy to listen to the TV, Radio and CDs. After a 2-hour struggle yesterday with the machine and its documentation, I am about to junk this miserable testament to bad product engineering.

Other tasks remain: network wires to clean up, pictures to hang, last-minute Xmas gifts, our online holiday card and the usual seasonal overload of tasks. Better get going on my list…
