Commander's Palace

After church this morning (at Trinity, New Orlean’s very large Episcopal congregation in the Garden District), we did the tourist thing and went to brunch at the nearby Commander’s Palace. The food (crawfish and eggs, chicory coffee) was very good, the jazz band had a credible Riverwalk sound and we got the kitchen tour (where 400 brunches were in process). Later we made our way by streetcar and foot to Soniat House, adjacent to the Ursuline convent…
