Fire and Ice

park_snow_2

chef_sondro_vOr, maybe, that should be “Fire and snow,” but, somehow that doesn’t sound as dramatic. As you can see we woke up this morning to find snowflakes falling densely and silently over New York. Central Park had already been transformed from its earthy hues of yesterday.

Last night we ate ate a very nice Italian restaurant called Sandro‘s on 81st between First and Second. Chef Sandro Fioriti was kind enough to take me back into his kitchen to demonstrate a flambĂ© technique that I can honestly say I’d never seen before. The baked red snapper, butterflied veal chop and warm fruit in balsamic are all excellent, BTW)
