This exhausting suburban life…

oranges_frmrs_mktCompared to a week in New York where we spent night after night of staying out (for us) late – to midnight and, once, much later. We went to plays, late night peace services, dinner at good restaurants – and still bound up in the morning, a bit later than normal, but often  in time to join the 8:00 AM throngs of Central Park walkers and joggers. It was fun.

But, here we are, one day back in Menlo, and exhausted already. All we did today was go to church, the farmers market (witness mandatory fruit shot) and pack up what was left of Christmas – except of course, the creche, since Christmas isn’t over yet, in our Episcopal, catholic tradition. We scheduled an InMenlo assignment, that had to be scratched when one of the participants’ cat died (we understand completely, really), but saved the afternoon when we cadged a last-minute reservation at one of our favorite local restaurants, and went out with a good friend. But, really, we’re beat…
