Il fait froid a Taizé au jourd'hui

It was 40 degrees as Linda and I set off to Taizé for the 12:30 service, and the occasional gusting winds didn’t help the situation. The brothers’ giant church was cool, but a marked improvement over temperatures dehors. Our intention is to attend the 8:15 AM service daily, but I’m putting down our failure to rise before 8:00 this morning to lingering jet lag.

Having mastered the steep stairs in our new abode, I was pleased to (slowly) walk to Taizé and back without incident, which included navigating a small hill and the rocky, unpaved courtyard just outside the church. Linda and I were surprised by the relatively large turnout for this service, given the weather and time of year.

On the way we passed the field where a Chestnut horse lives along with a companion – Linda has made M. Cheval’s acquaintance during a past visit. We are slowly getting our Ameugny act together…. dinner is planned at La Grange Finot this evening…
