Last day at Ameugny (for now)

cross_me_houseHard to believe a month has slipped by here in the French countryside, but it’s packing day and a morning flight awaits us in Lyon tomorrow. Neither of us want to leave, and we’re promising each other we will find a way to return in September.

I made the 3-mile loop walk to Taizé this morning, this time without breaking down, and I offered thanks as I sat in the Church of the Reconciliation. On the way out the door, I noticed both my shadow and that of the crucifix in the Ameugny church cemetary on the wall of the house we have been renting from M. Lechat. As we left the church in Taizé this morning, Linda began to cry… I felt the same way…
