Finally, a post

So, we have been home for just over a week and I haven’t, before this morning, made it to the keyboard to post. It’s Sunday morning, looking like a beautiful day, and I am sitting in the downtown Menlo Park Peet’s, sipping coffee, waiting for the chef’s knives I dropped off with the sharpening guy at the farmers market.

Linda’s in Chicago, wrapping up a long weekend of events surrounding the marriage of childhood friend Barb Slaton’s son, Andy, and new bride Christine. [Penned or, rather, tapped last Sunday, and obviously not completed or posted] Sheesh… Still no luck… But, we’re trying…

Welcome home. Peet’s is “USA nice” but nothing like a sidewalk cafe in France….I presume. Also it appears the French have the lock on the croissant recipe.

I guess “retirement” has its pitfalls… Hence the new commitment to Focus and Discipline. Thanks for keeping me honest.

The French, I’m convinced, are genetically programmed to make perfect croissants… I’ve never had a bad one in France, and the two tiny bakeries closest to Ameugny are equally fabulous. So good with strong Arabica coffee in the morning. Sigh… Love Peet’s but it’s not France…
